Terms of Service

These are the terms you agree to by using Tono. They cover what Tono is, what we promise, what we don't, and how billing works. Plain language; if you need legal certainty please consult a lawyer.
What Tono is
Tono is a browser extension and web app that uses a language model to suggest reply text for social media posts on X (twitter.com) and LinkedIn. Suggestions are generated based on your account profile (role, goals, projects, voice direction, sample replies) and the post you're actively replying to. The suggestions are starting points — you always edit and click send yourself. Tono does not auto-post.
Account and access
You create an account by subscribing through Stripe Checkout. We email you a one-time setup link; once you set a password, you sign in on the web app and the extension with that email and password. You are responsible for keeping your credentials private. If you suspect your account is compromised, write to raffaelefrancesco.damato@gmail.com immediately.
Billing, plans, and refunds
- Plans — Starter (USD 5/month or USD 50/year, 100 reply suggestions per calendar month) or Pro (USD 15/month or USD 150/year, 500 per month). Annual plans are billed once and cover 12 months from the date of purchase.
- Renewal — subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period. We charge the payment method Stripe has on file.
- Cancellation — you can cancel at any time from the Billing tab in your account. You keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for. No partial refunds are issued for unused time within a period you've already paid for.
- Failed payment — if a renewal payment fails, Stripe retries for up to about 3 weeks. During that window Tono keeps working for the period you've already paid for. Once the period ends without a successful payment, access pauses and you'll need to update your card to resume.
- Refund requests — for billing errors (double charge, wrong plan, charged after cancellation), email raffaelefrancesco.damato@gmail.com and we'll refund the disputed amount via Stripe within 7 days. We don't offer refunds for changing your mind once a period has been used.
Acceptable use
Use Tono for genuine social replies in your own voice. Do not use it to generate spam, harassment, impersonation of others, content that violates X or LinkedIn's rules, or any illegal content. We reserve the right to suspend an account that's clearly abusing the service, with a refund for unused time.
Service availability
Tono is run by a single developer on commodity cloud infrastructure (Vercel, Supabase, OpenAI). We do our best to keep the service running but we don't promise specific uptime levels. Brief outages happen. If a major incident lasts more than 24 hours and meaningfully degrades the service, we'll credit affected accounts.
Limitation of liability
Tono is provided "as is". We are not responsible for the content of suggestions Tono generates — you review and edit before sending, so you remain responsible for what you publish. We don't accept liability beyond the total amount you've paid us in the 12 months preceding any claim.
Changes to these terms
We'll post any material changes here with a new "Last updated" date. If a change affects pricing or rights, we'll notify subscribers by email at least 30 days in advance of the effective date. If you don't agree with a change, cancel before it takes effect — you'll keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for.
